Being an administrative setting comes with a lot of responsibility and paper work. Today’s tasks consisted of both. Though I enjoyed reading the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, I realized that how much of it I practice on a daily basis, at work and at school. I was practicing it as I was working with another professional in the field. My partner is very understanding, I was scared at first to work with her because I wasn’t sure if we would get along in that way. Turns out, she was just as scared. Very quickly we learnt each other’s working style and adapted to it. It was exciting to be working on our own conditions. We had the freedom of time. Indeed we had deadlines to follow but being professionals in the field we were allowed to work around our schedule. It felt nice to be given this opportunity that was much different from what I am used to doing at field placements. This was going to be experience of a lifetime. Who knows, the skills I was gaining and working towards were skills I would be able to use as a supervisor of day care one day.
